Care Guide

 Hand wash in cold water and hang dry. Use a steam iron at maximum 90 degrees. Do not bleach or tumble dry.

If you prefer machine washing, use a gentle cycle with cold water (maximum 30 degrees). To protect the fabric, place the garment in a dense laundry bag—especially if washing with other items. This helps prevent damage when delicates aren't separated.

Washing synthetic fibers can release microplastics into the water system, particularly during the first few washes. Using a microfiber-catching laundry bag helps collect these particles so they can be disposed of responsibly. You may also consider using a laundry ball or installing a washing machine filter.

Keep away from velcro, zippers and rough surfaces.

Made-to-order

 tela araneae operates as a one person company offering garments by made-to-order. Estimated production is up to 2 weeks. If you are purchasing a custom iteration option, you can discuss the production schedule during the session with the designer.

Material & Approach

 tela araneae’s translucent designs are crafted using synthetic materials such as nylon and polyester. These are often sourced in small quantities from retail shops, where it’s not possible to trace the full supply chain. Occasionally, materials come from Italian deadstock warehouses.

Each fabric is tested in-house to ensure quality before being used. While tela araneae acknowledges the environmental implications of synthetic materials, the effort put in choosing to work with the highest-quality options available. This often means limited colors, small quantities, and minimal or no stock.

The design and tailoring process is developed to generate as little waste as possible. Most garments are constructed from straight-cut strips of fabric, minimizing leftovers. Working on a made-to-order basis further reduces unnecessary production—every piece made has a purpose and a person. One-of-a-kind items are also created using offcuts and remnants from past orders or small fabric finds, sometimes just 2 to 4 meters in length.

Return Policy


There is a no-return policy for custom items, panties, socks and stockings.

Return is only possible for the ready-made items in their original condition, with tags still attached and no signs of wear or damage. To request a return, please contact us at tela.araneae@gmail.com for detailed return instructions. Return items must be shipped back no later than 14 calendar days after you first received them.

Once we receive your returned item, it will be inspected to ensure it meets our return requirements. If approved, your refund confirmation will be sent within 2-5 working days of processing the return. If the item does not meet the return criteria, no refund will be issued. Please note that original shipping costs are non-refundable.

Shipping


 All garments are made in and shipped out of Amsterdam. We deliver our products within the EU. Deliveries are made to the address provided by the customer during checkout.

After your order is processed and shipped, you will be provided with a track & trace number. Shipping in Europe takes 3-10 working days. All items are shipped via Post NL. Please note that delivery times are estimates. We cannot be held responsible for delays or loss caused by the postal service or customs. Delays do not entitle customers to compensation or order cancellation.
